Location & Approach
The Yacht Charter resorts in Pula, in northern Croatia, is world famous for its Roman ruins like the Roman amphitheater which dominates the area above the city port. Its location is in the south side of the Istrian peninsula, which means that there are numerous other places to explore in the region.
The marina is open all year round and is located just 5km from Pula airport, as well as regular bus connections running to the city of Pula. A more precise indication of its location would be to the east of the local harbor. To the west, a small island connected via a bridge, protects the Yacht Charter boats from the winds and the currents.
While the marina’s exact position is 44° 52.60' N - 13° 50.00' E, the approach can be made from the south of the island of St. Andrew (Sv. Andrija) and from the portion of water between St. Andrew island and Uljanik island (through the north of the island) before making a final turn east into the marina entrance.
The green lighthouse on Cape Kumpar can be used as a waypoint but keep away from several large metal buoys which are anchored randomly in the waters near the marina. Yacht Charter enthusiasts should be aware of the fact that the marina has no breakwaters. The maximum speed in the marina and in the harbor is 8 knots.
Infrastructure & Ambience
Four boat piers make up the entire marina which numbers 200 berths with full electricity and water supply for boats up to 25m and some 80 more dry berths. There is no fuel pump station on the pier and in the marina for that matter, the closest one that also caters to Yacht Charter boats is about 300m from the marina grounds.
Among the regular facilities offered to Yacht Charter guests, the marina has showers and toilet access, a reception office, telephone access, a restaurant and a café-bar. If you’re looking to fix your boat, there is a small service station operating inside the marina which comes equipped with a 10t crane and a small travel lift.
Additional services that are accessible to incoming Yacht Charter customers are, among others, a weather service system, parking access, an exchange shop and a rent-a-car agency. No shops are available, but there are plenty of shopping opportunities in the city itself.
