For boats
The port can be hard to approach, due to the narrow inlet, which also lets the swells come into the inner harbour. Here a strong current also collides with the sea. This make the sand from the sea come into the harbour.
To improve the situation, the enlargement of the western pier began, and already under -99, it is expected to be lengthened to 130 m. Due to the narrow inlet, you can approach the harbour in winds up to 11 m/s, using both sails and a strong engine at the same time.Steer 164° from Leba buoy (54°47,2'N 17° ;32,8'E, 1 M outside the inlet) until you see the leading lines. The syncchronised lights show orange blinking light every 10 sec, range 6 nm. The inlet grove have a depth of 12 m, but it shrinks to just 2 m ouside the inlet. The current is often i NE direction, can can reach a speed of 2-3 lnots. Pass 2-3 metres outside the eastern pier, until you come to the harbour office (Kapitanat) for clearance.
The space in the the harbour is very limited, and it is recommended to call the harbour office at VHF ch 16 or 12 to ask about outgoing traffic. In summer many tourist crafts with passengers goes to and from the harbour.
The Marina is located 500 meters off the breakwaters and consists of the yacht basin, which has concrete wharves. Depths from 2.5 to 3.5 meters.
The basin is separated from the entrance of the main port by a dike 160 meters in length. This guarantees good shelter for the visiting yachts. The Marina has capacity for 120 sailing and motor boats.
